Liska knows that magic is an abomination and that those who practice it are monsters. After being dragged to the Leszy's dilapidated mansion, Liska soon discovers something unsettling: she is not the first person to make a similar deal with the forest guardian, and all her predecessors have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. If Liska wants to return home alive after a year, she must unravel the tangle of secrets of her taciturn host and confront the ghosts of her past, both literally and figuratively. Because something lethal and merciless is awakening in the forest. Even the Leszy fears it... and the only way to defeat it is for Liska to embrace that monstrous version of herself she has always feared becoming.
